How To Get EVUSHELD

• - EVUSHELD requires a prescription from a medical provider
• - Prescribers can send Daniel's Pharmacy a prescription via E-SCRIBE, phone-in (956) 627-412), or FAX at (956) 627-441
• - Once received, we will contact the patient to counsel on the medication and then book an appointment for administration of EVUSHELD here at Daniel's Pharmacy
• - Patients will arrive at the pharmacy to receive the treatment, and then will be monitored for an hour afterwards.

What is evusheld ?

The FDA has issued an EUA for the unapproved product of EVUSHELD for pre-exposure prophylaxis of COVID-19 in adults and pediatric patients (12 years of age or older and weighing at least 40 kg):

*Who are currently NOT infected with COVID-19 and have not had a known exposure to an individual with COVID-19 AND *Has moderate to severe immune compromise due to a medical condition or immunosuppressive medication or treatments and may not mount an adequate immune response to COVID-19 vaccination

OR

For those whom vaccination with any available COVID-19 vaccine is not recommended due to a history of severe adverse reaction to the vaccine or vaccine components.

- Administered as two consecutive IM shots.

Medical conditions that may result in moderate to severe immune compromise and an inadequate response to COVID-19 vaccination include by are not limited to:

-Active treatment for solid tumor and hematologic malignancies

-Receipt of solid-organ transplant and taking immunosuppressive therapy

- Receipt of CAR-T-cell or hematopoietic stem cell transplant

- Moderate or severe primary immunodeficiency

- Advanced or untreated HIV infection

- Active treatment with high-dose corticosteroids, or other drugs that may suppress the immune response Limitations of use:

Not authorized for use in individuals:

- For treatment of COVID-19

- For post-exposure prophylaxis of COVID-19 in individuals who have been exposed to someone with COVID-19.

- Individuals who have received COVID-19 vaccine, EVUSHELD should be administered at least 2 weeks after vaccination.

- Pre-exposure prophylaxis is not a substitute for vaccination in individuals from whom COVID-19 vaccination is recommended.
